With the COVID-19 vaccine, people at higher risk of serious illness and hospitalization due to COVID-19 are better protected again. The COVID-19 vaccination round runs from September 15 to December 5, 2025.

Who can get a COVID shot this fall?

Some people can still become very ill from the coronavirus, for example, due to their age, chronic illness, or immunosuppressive medications. The COVID-19 vaccine will be available this fall for the following groups:

  • People aged 60 and over.

  • People aged 50 to 59 who receive an invitation for the flu shot every year.

  • Children and adults who can become very ill from corona (for example due to a severe immune system disorder).

  • Healthcare workers who have direct contact with vulnerable patients.

Are you not in one of the target groups above, but would you like to get a COVID-19 vaccination? For example, because you have a vulnerable family member or on the advice of a treating physician? You can make an appointment with the Municipal Health Service (GGD) during the COVID-19 vaccination round between August 26 and December 5, 2025, via planjeprik.nl (external link) .

Recently had corona?

If you've recently had COVID-19, your immune system and antibodies will protect you against the coronavirus for the time being. This protection gradually diminishes after a few months. However, it is safe to get a shot. So, if you're in the target group for the COVID-19 vaccine, you can get one until December 5, 2025.
